Hello and welcome to petermettler.com. We’ve
put this mini website together for the Toronto Film Festival 2006
retrospective of Mettler’s work this September 7th to the
17th. Soon the complete website will be available, so come back
and visit us again, meanwhile you can get a little more background
information here on Peter, the current retrospective, his films,
photography and upcoming audio visual performance.
- Peter Mettler’s films are a blend of personal inquiry,
experimental and documentary form, philosophical rumination, and
narrative drama. The Toronto International Film Festival Group
is honouring Mettler in this year’s Canadian
Retrospective and also publishing a book entitled Of This
Place and Elsewhere: The Films and Photography of Peter Mettler,
written by Jerry White. The official book
launch will be on September 5 at the Gladstone Hotel. In addition
to the book launch and film screenings, the festival is also presenting
two gallery exhibits
of Mettlers photography starting September 6th, and a live audio
visual performance called Elsewhere
on September 15th.
